In another module we reviewed the advantages and opportunities when using process mapping to streamline clinical or operational processes. This module describes how to create and analyze a process map, from defining the start and end points, through visually depicting all process steps, to finally scrutinizing all points for variation, waste, and inefficiencies. This is a critical technique you will employ when faced with converting a poorly performing process to one that functions optimally and creates value for all stakeholders.
