Description:

In this module we will take a look at the big picture of quality improvement–the view from 35,000 feet–and describe the basic paradigm of QI and the roles various tools play in working to improve quality. Throughout we will refer you to other modules you can complete that will teach you how to use these methods and tools of quality improvement.

Note: This course is eligible for ACPE credit.

You Will Learn

  • Define the quality improvement cycle
  • Describe the goals and methods of QI analysis
  • Explain the value of examining variation to find opportunities for improvement
  • Explain how the tools of analysis can be combined to assess systems and processes of care

Method and medium:

Learners participate in the interactive learning modules by correctly answering multiple choice questions dispersed throughout. Learners will be prompted to try again if a question is answered incorrectly.The course will open in a new tab - to exit the course, simply close that tab.
