Description:

Streamlining clinical or operational processes has the potential to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and staff and patient satisfaction, and also reduce variability and waste. Process mapping is one of a set of process analysis skills that promote a deeper understanding of a process and provide a mechanism to improve its flow and outcomes. In this module, we explore the advantages and opportunities using this skill can provide for quality improvement work. Many quality improvement professionals consider process mapping an essential skill for your toolkit.

Note: This course is eligible for ACPE credit.

You Will Learn

  • Define the value of process mapping in healthcare quality improvement
  • Describe the strengths and potential weaknesses of process mapping
  • Identify opportunities for process mapping

Method and medium:
