Many medical students find studying the ECG to be a tedious and daunting task. This should not be the case. While the ECG does indeed contain a wealth of important information that can will be more deeply understood by experienced interpreters, every ECG reader can learn to recognize the most important and basic findings of the common ECG patterns. With a modest investment of time, you will learn to recognize the 15 to 20 most common ECG diagnoses – these ECGs will account for majority of the clinical patterns that you will encounter in clinical practice.
This series focuses on the clinical scenarios that are informed by “classic ECGs” – learning about the important cardiovascular diseases and conditions through a focus on the ECG.
Note: This course is eligible for ACPE credit.
You Will Learn
- To correctly interpret an abnormal ECG with respect to rate, rhythm, axis, intervals, and morphology.

- To recognize rhythm and rate abnormalities associated with the ECG in a clinical context.
