Description:
Heart disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality for women in the United States, yet there remains a significant gap in our understanding of the clinical features and pathophysiology of coronary heart disease in women. In this course, we explore our clinically relevant knowledge of heart disease in women and describe the current thinking regarding the history, appropriate diagnostic testing, and the treatment of coronary disease in women. As there are well-described health care disparities between women and men in all aspects of coronary heart disease, this lecture provides welcome additional knowledge and perspectives.
You Will Learn
- Identify the prevalence of heart disease in women
- List the different pathophysiology of heart disease in women
- Identify the signs of heart attack for women
- State the known risk factors for heart disease in women
