Description:

Severe aortic stenosis has a poor prognosis with intervention and there is currently a Class I indication to treat. The clinical challenge is determining the best mode of intervention. Currently there are three options: medical therapy, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and open Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR).

You Will Learn

  • Describe the treatment options for aortic stenosis.
  • Given history, physical and test results, identify the best candidates for TAVR intervention.
  • Given history, physical and test results, identify the best candidates for SAVR intervention.

Method and medium:
