Description:

Maternal mortality rates are increasing in the United States, driven in part by women with congenital heart disease (CHD) becoming pregnant. These patients require exceptional care, but can still have a good outcome if managed carefully. This course covers the impact of maternal cardiac disease on maternal mortality and 6 key principles for managing pregnant women with CHD.

Note: This course is eligible for ACPE credit.

You Will Learn

  • Understand the impact of maternal cardiac disease on maternal mortality
  • Learn normal physiologic cardiac changes of pregnancy
  • Be able to identify key principles in managing pregnant women with congenital heart disease

Method and medium:
