Less common conditions such as coarctation of the aorta, persistence of the left superior vena cava, right-sided aortic arch, and dextrocardia are occasionally encountered during diagnostic cardiac catheterization and require basic knowledge of anatomy to make the correct diagnosis.

Examples of these conditions as encountered in the cardiac catheterization laboratory are described and discussed.

To identify the epidemiology of coarctation of the aorta
To recognize the angiographic and hemodynamic findings associated with coarctation of the aorta
To recognize the anatomic abnormalities associated with persistence of the left superior vena cava, right-sided aortic arch, and dextrocardia

Method and medium:
