Description:

The prosthetic valve has hemodynamic features that can vary from the normal cardiac valve both by echocardiographic assessment and by hemodynamic assessment in the cath lab. Prosthetic valves have typical appearances under fluoroscopy both in terms of valve movement and leaflet mobility. The typical findings of prosthetic valve dysfunction as assessed in the cardiac cath lab are described and discussed. This module discusses specific valves in case-based scenarios and does not constitute commercial endorsement.

You Will Learn

  • To describe the normal appearance and hemodynamic assessment of various prosthetic valves in the cardiac cath lab
  • To identify certain types of prosthetic valve dysfunction in the cardiac cath lab with fluoroscopy
  • To diagnose certain types of prosthetic valve dysfunction in the cardiac cath lab hemodynamic assessment
